Connor Davis: Baseball, Family, and Iowa State

Born and raised in Des Moines, Iowa: Connor Davis has been taught about hard work and dedication from his family and teammates throughout the years.

While growing up, Davis has looked up to his older brother. “He is currently a junior at ISU, and he works hard to get where he needs to be. That gives me a lot of motivation and confidence going into college to be like him,” says Davis.

Davis has been playing baseball for about thirteen years now, five of which he played at North High School. While creating memories and making life long friends, Davis says baseball has taught him many other things. “It has taught me how to work for what I want, how to be a leader, and how to mature,” says Davis, “also, Coach Pithand has taught me how to have a confident mindset on and off the field.”

Davis recalls one of his greatest high school memories was shutting Roosevelt out 6-0 or when he got locked in the trunk of his car before a game in 2013.

“North has shown me people who I do not want to be like, and people I do want to be like. There are a lot of positives in North that people on the outside cannot see,” says Davis.

After high school, Davis plans on attending Iowa State and majoring in Kinesiology, which is the study of human movement, to become a physical therapist.

“My biggest accomplishment is probably getting into Iowa State and knowing what I want to do, and not getting accepted just for meeting the criteria,” says Davis. Davis sees himself graduating from med school and working his way on becoming successful in ten years.
