Bullying

Bullying is best known for affecting kids and teens psychologically and in some cases physically. From my experience, it has done both.  There had been many organizations and laws created that have tried to put a stop to it. However, some things haven’t changed. A study showed that those in the lower grades levels reported being in twice as many fights as those in the higher grades.

My younger brother is being teased, harassed and threatened nearly everyday. After all this occurred it changed him, He barely opens up to anyone about it and when he does nothing is actually done. “They are always trying to pick a fight,” Nick says “They don’t care about hurting anyone’s feelings as long as they feel better in the end. I’ve told teachers in the past and nothing changed.”

I remember experiencing a similar thing in elementary and middle school. It seems sometimes as if they simply just don’t care. Situations like this make it extremely difficult to get rid of the problem. Besides all of that what is the point of creating rules or laws but never enforce them?

A lot of bullying tends to go on social networking such as Facebook, Twitter etc. Just one nasty comment can make a kid feel like the whole world is against them. Making life online a living hell. It is absolutely awful to see children isolated from society because others treat them badly.
