Polar Bear Gala 2019 raises nearly $75,000

The fourth annual Polar Bear Gala kicked off on April 27 at the Downtown Marriott where staff, alumni and other supporters gathered to raise money for North High School’s activities.

There was a silent auction where people could sign up and bid on items and donate to the school. Some items included gift cards, photographs of North, polar bear blankets, a raffle for a trip, and many more.

Many people came to support as there were approximately 400 guests who attended the Gala. All the guests got to see student performances by the choir, band, orchestra and ROTC drill team.

That night nearly $75,000. That money will help band buy new instruments, sponsor newspaper and yearbook for journalism conventions, and sports with new equipment and new uniforms. The gala helped many activities close the gap for the students to have a more successful year.
