From students running to gather scavenger hunt items, the crowd excitedly yelling, and prom court being announced, the last pep rally hosted by Polar Bear Senate, got the upperclassmen excited for prom, and the underclassmen ready for their future years to come.

Junior Jasmine Inthabounh and Senior Student Body President Harry Nguyen emceed the last 2016-2017 pep rally on April 21, 2017. The pep rally consisted of spring/summer activities being announced such as Gender Sexuality Alliance (GSA), National Honor Society, Boys/Girls tennis, track, soccer teams, and softball and baseball.

The school year’s last pep rally continued with a crowd scavenger hunt, which two students from each grade were selected to participate in. In this game, Inthabounh and Nguyen said one item to find in the bleachers to bring back into the middle of the gym, and the last person to end in the middle with the emcees, was out. Items consisted of a lanyard, a cracked iPhone, a shoe lace, and even a high-five from the polar bear mascot who sat at the top of the freshmen section.

The senior prom court was announced for prom being this Saturday from 8-11pm at the Downtown Forte. The court included seniors: Caleb Ostermann, Michael Sunga, Musa Allison, Janelle Hill, Tina Ho, and Elizabeth Folkers. The final two people crowned Prom Royalty will be voted at the prom dance on April 22, 2017.

To conclude, each grade level competed for the spirit stick, which is traditionally done by each grade level shouting “V-I-C-T-O-R-Y” and a select few teachers and administration voted for the loudest grade to declared “the most spirited.” The seniors took home that title at their last ever pep rally and cheered for excitement when holding the spirit stick.
