Eight megapixels.

Eight megapixels are in the iPhone 5. Some may say that no phone can deliver quality pictures or even edit a quality photo. However, with the help of some general apps, I have proved said statement wrong. Yes, some picture may be blurry in some areas, but I believe in catching pictures in the moment. I believe that posed pictures are so unrealistic and boring. You have to catch someone off guard, and you have to catch their silly facial expressions. Taking a picture of someone in motion is not easy, especially when taking a picture on a phone with no adjustable shutter speed. However, you can still take five or twenty pictures of the same subject and still receive one good photograph.

I went to Iowa City over the summer for the annual Iowa Summer Journalism Camp. I had over twelve hours a day of work put into a iPhoneography class. I had won the Best Eye for Color award at the end of the trip. There were only three of us in the class, but of all the thousands of pictures created, I had the most vibrancy and color.

So no matter what quality of camera you have, if you like taking pictures, then you go and take pictures! Reveal yourself through the art and don’t listen to those who say “good pictures are taken only with a 1800 megapixel camera.”
