Hallway disaster

Why underclassmen need to cut the chatter

Kirsten Niblo, Reporter

When you’re walking in the hallway do you notice a lot of people passing you? Many have been guilty of paying too much attention to their phones or their friends to notice how they are walking.

When the bell rings to release you from your classroom everyone floods out and heads to their next one. With only four minutes to get to class it can be kind of difficult to do so when there are people walking really slow.

It can get very aggravating when you have a class on the other side of the school and people keep stopping or waking really slow in front of you. I personally feel like I get stuck behind those people constantly.

I think of it like when you’re driving. On the highway there is always that one guy that’s only doing 50 and the speed limit is 65. That is way to slow, and when you want to get where you are going you don’t want to be stuck behind him.

All you can concentrate on is the person in front of you. You could try to get around but there is always that one person behind you that doesn’t let you.

It’s the same concept in the hallways. If someone was to stop in front of you, you most likely are going to bump into them. In return the people behind you are going to get cluttered and it creates a big hassle that isn’t needed.

Many of the “slow walkers” are under class men. In the hallways you can always find clusters of them anywhere you look. Mostly talking about drama, what their plans are for later or what happened that weekend.

The gossip and chatter is unnecessary. Save it for later. The hallways were meant for us to walk in so we can get to where we need to be. It’s not a gossip hall, and that’s what it’s starting to become.

When walking down the hall it is nerve racking to try to get somewhere and you can’t because of slow people.

Every time I see someone standing in the hall during passing time it irritates me. It’s worse when they can see that people are trying to get around them but can’t because of the others getting to class.
