Homecoming Night

As you’re dancing, you feel the beat pulsing through your chest. It is so loud you have to yell in your friend’s ear just for her to hear you. “This is soooo muchhh funnn!”, You say dragging your words out. You are at the homecoming dance.

This past Saturday, North students had their homecoming at Union Labor Park. It was a dance and bonfire. It was a day of dancing, s’mores, and fun!

“It was so much fun to spend the night dancing with my friends,” freshman Deangelo Thompson said. He was supposed to come with his girlfriend, who sadly canceled at the last minute.

The Dj Wolf Pack (Harding Middle School Students) deejayed the dance which took place in a garage. Not too far outside was the bonfire. There were many students huddled around the fire, attempting to stay warm.

“I decided not to go because I thought it would be cold. Also my friends didn’t go,” senior Edna David said.

It was a little chilly on Saturday night with a high of 79 degrees, but many girls still came in dresses and heels despite the weather conditions. As the night went on, it continued to get colder.

“It was my best experience at high school so far! I had a great time,” Freshman Venny Miller said. It was her first high school dance and she was so excited. “It was everything I expected it to be.”

For some who went it was a great night and they had an amazing time. Some did not go at all because of the weather or the fact that it was outside. Some went and didn’t have a good time at all, maybe it was because weather and maybe it was because of the music selection.
