As kids we all dreamed big and believed when we grew up we could be anything we wanted, whether it was being an astronaut, a famous actor, singer or a doctor. One that everyone has at least thought about once is being president. As a kid it seemed so easy and fun to get to be in control of the whole country.  But as you begin to grow up, you start to realize that getting to be in control of a whole country isn’t so easy, or is it?

When I think about a President I think about someone who’s in their late forties maybe fifties, who has had a political background or even a background in the law and has promoted good behavior. But that doesn’t seem to be the case for everyone. Nowadays if you have money or are well known you can run for president. In August the “Deez nuts” guy or Brady Olson, a famous Viner made an announcement that he is going to run for president in the 2016 elections. Although he is only 15 years old and the age requirement to be president is 35, he still got a lot of attention and people really considered voting for him. It may have been a joke but it shows that no matter who you are, you have a chance.

Same goes for Juaquin Malphurs known as Waka Flocka, he’s a well known rapper and has had no political experience but announced he’s running for the 2016 elections. Waka Flocka is very serious about being America’s next president. He made a video that was posted on Rolling stone’s website stating that he’s keeping his promise and is running for president. One of the reasons he’s so popular is because he says if he becomes president he will immediately legalize marijuana. A lot of his fans or younger audience want to vote for him. Other than that Waka hasn’t stated what other things he will do for the country.

During the 2015 VMAs Kanye West received an award and gave a very moving speech about how we should raise this generation and about living in the moment. At the end of his acceptance speech, he told everyone he is running for president in the 2020 elections. Although he admitted he “rolled up a little something to knock the edge off” before his speech, he still seemed serious about running.

These well known stars show that no matter your background or how much experience you have you can always chase your dreams. It’s not very likely that any of them will become president but it states a lot. You can succeed and continue to go after what you want no matter who you are.
